Mikolaj Puhacz and Jozefa Tyminska marriage document
The above document has an officials stamp dated 1907. It is meant to be a certified copy of their original marriage document (no copy machines in 1907). The original marriage certificate would have been created on or near their wedding date. A copy would have resided with the church. A second copy would have been given to the Russian authorities for their records.
This certified copy was probably obtained by Jozefa before she left Poland for the United States in 1907. Mikolaj had already left some years earlier and she wanted this as a proof of her marriage for the US authorities.

Mikolaj (Nicholas) Puhacz Russian ID Card
Cover Page
This booklet was issued in July, 1902. The translation indicates that Mikolaj was born in the village of Grodek on February 21, 1865. He is identified as being a resident of Gmina (administrative district) of Klukowa. Uezda Mazowiecka and Gubernia Lomzynska are just further definitions of geography under the occupying Russians. Think village, county, state in our present terms. These geographic area descriptions generally no longer apply in present day Poland as Poland has reorganized political districts many times even since the end of WWII.
Mikolaj is further identified as being Roman Catholic, a peasant, working as a laborer of medium height, with an oblong face. His hair is light brown with blue eyes, a normal nose and mouth, and a round chin. He is said to have scar near his left eye.
This ID is certified to be owned by Mikolaj, son of Benedykt Pugacz (Puhacz). He lives at house #2 on page 16. This last comment must refer to some official reference map.
I conjecture that this booklet is meant be an internal ID. I am in possession of another type document of Stanley Lichota’s that is a passport which I suspect is the kind of document issued to allow someone to travel as would be needed to leave the country.
